The FreeStyle Life The FreeStyle Life opens their global film exhibition with the international premiere of the documentary Electronic Awakening. The music documentary about the Electronic Dance Music Culture premieres Friday January 20th at 8:00 PM (EST) on The FreeStyle Life or http://exhibition.thefreestylelife.com .

First time Director Andrew Johner takes viewers into the world of Electronic Music through the eyes of dozens of experts, visionaries, and the people whose collective experiences make up the rave culture. Filmed over a period of 5 years, Johner uses his academic background as an anthropologist to capture the pulse and global reach of the underground dance phenomenon and the spiritual, mystical, and apocalyptic movements that have evolved therefrom. Johner’s camera takes us to marathon electronic dance events such as Burning Man, Earthdance, LoveFest, Moontribe, Wicked, Shambhala and the Boom Festival.

Electronic Awakening charts the evolution of electronic dance music from its inception to present day and offers insight into the powerful, primal and both physical and metaphysical responses elicited from listening to electronic music.

Featuring music from world-renowned artists such as Shpongle, The Crystal Method, Vibrasphere, Random Rab, Phuture Primitive, Androcell, Bird of Prey, Sheff, Jason Knight, Govinda, Gladkill, Goldrush, Desert Dwellers, Eastern Sun, Solar Fields, Grouch, Satsi and many more…

The FreeStyle Life is taking the film festival experience online and into the digital age in 2012. Visit The FreeStyle Life Film Exhibition for its opening night on January 20 for the world premiere of Electronic Awakening.
