Yesterday afternoon the small caribbean island Haiti was hit by a devastating 7.o Earthquake, destroying thousands of homes, buildings, churches, shanty towns, and even the famed Presidential Palace.

Officials are saying that this is the worst Earthquake to hit Haiti for over 200 years, and hospitals are not equipped to deal with the amount of injuries brought on by this amount of destruction.

The Earthquake hit 10 miles East of the highly populated capital Port-au-Prince destroying the UN Headquarters, the Presidential Palace and other important buildings.  People lined the streets with no where to go, and offered their efforts to dig people trapped under rubble with their bare hands.

A truly horrible and devastating disaster to hit such an impoverished and poor country, Haiti will be needed all the help it can get.  Take the time to look into ways that you can help today. A-child-injured-in-an-ear-001
