Fall Fashion

runwayAs the summer fades away and fall is on its way, school is back in session. Here come the long days of boring classes and sleepless nights in the library. The only thing making any of this bearable is either the promise of a really good party, or a really good outfit. Looking good on campus is a staple at my school. Girls show up to class adorned in the latest hippest trends and I often find myself thinking that the sidewalk serves more as a runway than a pedestrian walkway. Fall fashion is always my favorite; with big chunky sweaters, loose flowy tops, dark jeans and fabulous boots, fall fashion always seems chic and put together. This season seems extra exciting and hyped with NYC Fashion Week just around the corner and fashion based reality shows dominating TV, like Project Runway and The Rachel Zoe Project. I find myself perusing ShopBop and fashion blogs all day long. I have currently picked out two of the most perfect Diane Von Furstenberg dresses, however it seems I will have to sacrifice a month of bar tabs to be able to afford half of one. One event any fashionista has to look forward to is the much-anticipated Fashion’s Night Out. In a global initiative to promote retail and fashion, U.S. and International editions of Vogue have put together a night of festivities and parties to promote fashion and boost the economy. I am hoping this fall brings the best and most affordable clothes possible and am excited for the creative and new initiatives implemented to create a better shopping experience. Just like the 5 Dollar Foot Long, I’m hoping fashion houses, flagships, mainstream designers, and tiny boutiques will come up with incentives and discounts to attract us young struggling but dying to be hip college students.
